FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Does this also work for children?

In principle, yes, but it takes a bit of patience and perseverance to get the perfect iris image.
We enjoy working with children, but they must be able to understand and follow our instructions (e.g., “Now please hold completely still and look straight into the lens!”) in German or English. Every child is different in terms of development, but generally, the chances are good for children ages 4 and up.

Does this also work for pets?

YES! It’s easier with humans, but we have extensive experience with iris photography, including dogs, cats, horses, and even snakes.

How 'bad' do I have to imagine that to be?

Not a problem at all! You just need to keep your head and eye steady while the photo is taken. The lens will be very close to your face.
You may need to hold the eye you’re photographing open with your free hand so the entire iris is visible.

How long does the recording take?

It won’t take long! You can usually get a suitable image within the first 3-5 shots.
Including the brief explanation, you should plan on about 20 minutes.

What about glasses or contact lenses?

Glasses are easy – they can be removed before taking the picture. If you wear contact lenses, we recommend removing them before taking the picture. If they remain in your eye, the images may not be completely clear. We recommend removing them, especially if you have hard lenses

How can I make an appointment?

How do I get the pictures?

After the shoot, we’ll send you a link to the online gallery. From there, you can download the professionally edited images as compressed JPG files.
Photo prints, posters, and wall art will be sent directly to your home.

Where are the pictures taken?

We offer Iris Photography at three locations: our permanent studios in Oberursel (Taunus) and in Nuremberg’s Old Town, and by appointment also in Essen. We also offer home or company visits for larger groups upon request. Contact us! Please make an appointment in advance so that we have enough time for you.

Are there partner or family offers?

As standard, you can book for one, two, three or four people. We offer special rates for families – from the 3rd person onwards, each additional person will be charged €30. If you’d like to come with your family, that’s no problem. When booking, please let us know how many people will be coming for photoshoots in the comments. Alternatively, we can arrange an appointment via email or WhatsApp.

Can multiple eyes be used to create a partner or family motif?

Yes, of course.
In addition to the photoshoots, we offer many different layout options for couples and families

What payment options are available?

You can pay conveniently and contactless with your card (EC and credit cards).
Of course, we also accept cash. Additionally, we offer you the option of paying in installments for orders over €300.
